Sun, Jun 14th, 2015 This is an exciting project where I am creating a custom ceramic wall tile for a client in Pensacola, Florida. The wall I'm working with calls for a large vertical wall tile piece. Just overlooking the lake, Susan & Ian have many ideas they want incorporated into the custom design.
I met Susan and Ian at the Gulf Coast Art Festival in Pensacola, FL. That is a wonderful art show in a beautiful setting with an educated and enthusiastic audience - one of my favorites!
The 'Great Room' of their home hosts a large fireplace upon which they're looking for a custom hand made tile art piece. We began, as I do with each custom order, with a discussion & drawings. I created 2 scenarios based on our discussions.
Susan & Ian selected drawing #1 with some amendments. The Pine to the right will run the full length of the mural; the land to the right will come lower in the composition and the pampas grasses will reach higher toward the sky. I adjusted my working drawing and began creating the custom tile art piece designed just for their home.
The wall art will be 63" tall by 42" wide. Here are some pics of the home, concept and creation.
After the wall mural was complete, Susan and Ian sold their home and purchased another just down the street. The mural found a new home at the entry as shown in the picture.
