TX: Design #2 Begins

Thu, Aug 2nd, 2012 Russell & Christine ordered a simple wall mural from me for their bathroom, above the vanity. The first one I kept true to our conversations.

Today I created a second mural, but this time I changed a few things, still staying true to the spirit of the idea. First, I put the focal point of the mural slightly off center and to the right since the bathroom has a dynamic stained glass window all the way to the left. I felt it may create more balance and I also like things slightly off-center.

Next, I created some texture in the base, not a lot, but just enough to give it some dimension. Since I'm not creating volume in this mural, I feel the texture keeps the eye moving throughout.

Finally, I created a smaller, softer 'nature impression' all the way to the left of the mural, to create a direct relationship with the Heron in the stained glass window to the left.

I show some of the designs I refer to and the color scheme of the bathroom in my last image. Next step, I'll work on the color scheme needed.
