Tue, Jun 26th, 2012 Cathy & Keith met me in Florida this winter and now we are working on a mural for their beautiful living room. This space calls for a sculptural nature scape mural as it is filled with sunlight cascading through their large windows and it has that 'inside-outside' feeling.
I began yesterday and here's the first piece almost completely made, I did some finish work that I forgot to photograph. As with every commission, I make 2 for the client - so they have a choice once they're both fired.
This mural is 30" x 72". Cathy & Keith liked my naturescape series, but wanted more texture. Below is the first drawing offered up...and then pictures of the one I created.
This mural has soft carvings in the horizon, I broke the grid by creating circles & those circles are now textured. Notice the Queen-Anne's lace & rye grasses? It's on the drying shelf and will go in the kiln next week.
