Sun, Oct 20th, 2013 Here is the class crew...Irit and Ilana are friends and good potters from Israel. One is quiet, the other explosively effervescent, they are the yin and yang to our Yin & Yang workshop. Mark, Debbie, Alison and Don hail from Colorado; each has clay experience and has come to address issues, break out of old patterns or just explore new ones.
Mary, the youngest in the group, has made this her first jaunt overseas , her first solo trip EVER and she's new to clay! You go girl!
Lindsey, Faye and Betty hail from florida, the yogi, the potter and the pioneer....Betty, at 85, keeps up with the groups laughter, wine indulgences and long walks down cobble corridors. She is an inspiration. Faye, a lover of clay for several decades, is one of those people who reveals herself slowly in a group and each unfolding is a delightful surprise. Lindsey...what can I say, I love her resonance and her presence. For me, Lindsey was a beacon of light and she sure shines brightly.
Debra and Kit (our sole painter) are sisters in law sharing different creative juices in Tuscany and supporting one another the whole way. Jyl is an accomplished writer, teacher and performance artist who took a year off and is exploring the 3-dimensional side of her creativity. With a keen intellectual mind and a warm heart, she has stimulated many enthusiastic discussions and raised a few eyebrows in the process.
Rachel, also new to clay, is another one who is on sabbatical from her full-time gig as the headmaster of a private school in Boston. She is here in Italy for 2 months exploring her creative passions. She is studying the cello with a professor in Florence...and she took a 12 day break from that to indulge her love of clay with us. A wonderful addition to our group, Rachel hails from the Boston area.
Lou came to us at the beginning of 3 months of travels thru Europe and opted to add 10 more days to her clay exploration. After Italy she goes to Spain, France and then beyond finally ending her journey at her home in Northern California's wine country.
That's our crew...next, the ones who really make it happen.
